Today Canuck Place revealed a new commercial in the ‘Embracing Life one goal at a time…’ public awareness series once again featuring Canucks Captain and goaltender Roberto Luongo.
“We are thrilled Roberto agreed to be part of our campaign again this year and very grateful for his ongoing involvement with us,” said Filomena Nalewajek, Chief Executive Officer of Canuck Place. “The Vancouver Canucks and the Canucks for Kids Fund are always very supportive of our public awareness initiatives and we are fortunate to have such great partners.”
This year Luongo, 12 year old Jaxson Creasy of Victoria and 10 year old Quinn Lesiuk of Kelowna are joined by 11 year old Jayden Johal from Surrey, for a light hearted game of road hockey in the playground of Canuck Place. To even the playing field, Quinn, Jayden and Jaxson team up to play against their hero Luongo.
“Despite the incredible challenges Canuck Place kids face each day, I am inspired by their spirit to embrace life,” commented Luongo. “I’m proud to support Canuck Place and hope I can assist in building awareness for families in need in BC.”
The public service announcement was created and produced by Insight Film Studios. “Canuck Place makes a difference in the lives of children and families across our province,” explained Kirk Shaw, Chief Executive Officer of Insight Film Studios. “Everyone at Insight is proud to lend our knowledge and expertise to help support Canuck Place through this public service campaign.”
“We rely on the generosity of individuals, corporations and organizations to provide our program at no cost to over 370 children with life threatening illnesses and their families throughout British Columbia,” said Nalewajek. “Insight Film Studios and the Vancouver Canucks are longtime partners of ours and we are so grateful for their generosity.”
