Canucks photographer Jeff Vinnick joined the team for their four-game road swing through Los Angeles, Anaheim, San Jose, and Edmonton.
He's kindly agreed to share a few thoughts, and hopefully and slew of pictures over the next week as he captures action behind the scenes. Edmonton, Day Four
Airplane, bus, hotel, rink - airplane, bus, hotel, rink - and so it goes.
Bill Murray from groundhog day would make a great NHLer. It’s torturous routine.
The best part of this long road trip is we're almost back home - at least we're back in Canada now; the Globe & Mail, the glorious CBC, the red maple leaf and a good old fashioned hockey rivalry.
Tomorrow's game should be a good one. The boys can save face coming off a tough road trip at .500. With Louie out, a flu going around and Mo and Issy injured I don't think anyone would be disappointed with two and two.
It’s kind of hard to believe we’ve already played four of the eight games against Edmonton and tomorrow’s will be our fifth. So far, we’re 2-2 with both losses coming in extra time.
We touched down in Edmonton late this afternoon. We were spared the cruelty that a prairie winter can deliver. I can recall my youth in Saskatoon where -40 and sunny skies was the norm.
Today, we were blessed with a beautiful prairie sunset, minus 4 and a scattering of snow on the ground but it’s supposed to go down to about -11 but that’s still not a -40.
It’s not a hard hour bus ride to the downtown hotel and a night off to relax, just what the boys need to catch their breath after the San Jose and Anaheim back-to-backs.
The laugh of the day was provided by the fans at the hotel elevator when the players arrived. Unfortunately they were Oiler fans expressing their views on who would win the game tomorrow. If we come away with a 10-0 win, we'll know who lit the fire.
