Alumni to play against BC Rockies deaf ice hockey club

On March 22nd, 2008 the BC Rockies Deaf Ice Hockey Club will be taking on the Vancouver Canucks Alumni in a charity hockey game. Profits from the game will be go towards supporting the BC Rockies journey to participate in the 7th Canadian Deaf Ice Hockey Championship to be held in, Whitby, Ontario.

Queens Park Arena staff will be providing a family BBQ and concession encouraging fans to come early and meet and greet with the Vancouver Canucks Alumni. During the BBQ, fans will be encouraged to purchase raffle tickets for prizes that will be made available in the lobby. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase up until the second intermission. Winning numbers will be announced during the second intermission.

This family focused event will be inviting Deaf Youth Today, to participate in this event. Deaf Youth Today will be creating fun filled atmosphere for the young and old. Pre game activities will include face painting, target practice and other fun filled events. Puck drop will be at 7pm, with opening ceremonies and out door activities starting at 6pm.

Adults: $10
Seniors/Teens: $7
Youth(12-under): $5
Children(4-under): Free

Family of 5: $25

For the duration of the event and the post-game gatherting at Boston Pizza, the BC Rockies will provide volunteer interpreters to help out throughout the day.
