7 Things to Know About Mattias Ohlund Ring of Honour

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Canucks will induct Mattias Ohlund into the Ring of Honour prior to their game on Friday, December 16th vs Tampa Bay. Here are 7 things you should know about the evening:
- GET TO YOUR SEATS EARLY
Fans are encouraged to arrive early and be in their seats by 6:45pm to enjoy the pre-game ceremonies which includes Ohlund's induction into the Ring of Honour as well as a very special ceremonial faceoff. Please take into consideration weather, traffic and security when making travel plans.
- FAN TAKEAWAYS
Each fan in attendance will receive a Mattias Ohlund Ring of Honour pin at the doors and an Ohlund themed magazine on their seats to help commemorate the evening.
- RETAIL THERAPY
During warm-up the Canucks will don Team Classic 2004 Navy Orca Ohlund jerseys, which will be autographed, by both a Canuck on the current roster and Ohlund, and will be available in the team store for purchase in-game. Navy Ohlund N&N tees, Ring of Honour game pucks, Navy 2004 Orca Ohlund jerseys (with a specialized Ring of Honour patch), Ring of Honour Ohlund pins and a limited number of "West Coast Express" t-shirts and hats will also be available.
- LOCAL FARE
For individuals aged 19+ with two pieces of ID, Stanley Park Brewing has crafted a session lager in honour of the Swedish defenceman, named Ohlund's Öl. It will be made available for a very limited time at select locations around the arena in addition to the new Stanley Park Brewing craft beer kiosk located at section 110. A percentage of proceeds from the sale of Ohlund's Öl will benefit the Canucks for Kids Fund.
- MATTIAS MEMORIES
The Canucks Instagram, Twitter and Facebook page are running 16 days of Mattias, sharing some of the highlights throughout Ohlund's career leading up to the big night.
- #MYMATTIAS
Mattias Ohlund was known for mentoring a number of players, including the Sedins and Alex Edler. To celebrate this trait, fans are encouraged to take to social and explain the difference a mentor has made in their life and why they're worthy of a special night out with the hashtag #MyMattias. A pair of tickets will be awarded to four winners, so their mentor can accompany them to the game. Contest closes December 14th.
- TAKE A STROLL
Either pre-game or during an intermission, fans are encouraged to visit section 122 to check out the Forever a Canuck display, featuring Mattias Ohlund.
