MONTREAL - George Parros was released from hospital on Wednesday morning. He was diagnosed with a concussion and will be sidelined indefinitely. He did not, however, suffer any fractures.
The 33-year-old incurred the injury during Tuesday night’s tilt against the Maple Leafs after a fight with Colton Orr during the third period. Parros accidentally hit the ice head-first and remained motionless for several minutes while medical staff attended to him and evaluated the situation. He was later taken off the ice on a stretcher and driven to hospital. The Pennsylvania native was fully conscious while being transported via ambulance for treatment.
Overnight, Parros addressed his followers on Twitter, expressing his appreciation for their support.
“Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. #classyfollowers,” tweeted Parros at 2 a.m. EST time.
