Trick or treat!

by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens
MONTREAL – While their days of trick-or-treating might be behind them, it wasn’t too long ago that Canadiens players went door to door hoping to build up their candy stock.  Here’s a look at their most memorable Halloween moments.

Ryan O'Byrne: “That would have to be the Halloween when I was 14 years old and some friends and I had the brilliant idea to light some firecracker and fireworks. I almost blew off my finger! It really hurt there for a while, but my parents never found out so that was good.”
Tomas Plekanec: “Halloween is my birthday, but I didn’t even know what Halloween was until I arrived in North America because we don’t celebrate it in the Czech Republic.”

Maxim Lapierre: “The costume I remember most is definitely Shredder, from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  My dad made it and it looked exactly like the character.”

Guillaume Latendresse: “My brother Olivier and I once dressed up as Fred and Barney from the Flintstones, but I don’t remember who was who.  We tried some blond highlights for Barney, but it didn’t really work.  Turned out more orange.”

Tom Kostopoulos: “My best costumes were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  I wore a different one from that show three years in a row.  First, I was Raphael, then Donatello and then Shredder.  It was great!”

Mike Komisarek: “When I was a kid, my best costume was when I was dressed up as a hockey player.  At least, that’s the only one I can share…for a bunch of reasons.”

Josh Gorges: “I was a big fan of Spiderman as a kid and I wore that as a costume one year, so I’d have to say that’s probably my most memorable Halloween.”
