- After a pair of back-to-back wins over the Colorado Avalanche, the Canadiens practiced at the Bell Sports Complex on Saturday ahead of their tilt against the Washington Capitals on Sunday evening.

- Lars Eller returned to practice on Saturday after being sidelined due to injury. He centered a line with Jiri Sekac and Rene Bourque. Eller indicated that he's ready to return to active duty. He was unaware whether or not he would be in the lineup against Washington. For his part, Tomas Plekanec centered a line with Alex Galchenyuk and Brendan Gallagher.

- Peter Budaj donned a new mask at practice for the first time.
