20170203-super-bowl

The web is full of "experts" breaking down the Super Bowl, but this is not your typical Super Bowl preview.
Torrey Mitchell and Brian Flynn aren't your typical NFL experts, either -- the former's 2-4 record when it comes to making playoff picks is proof enough of that.
Still, if there's one thing the Habs duo love more than talking football it's grinding each other's gears, and that's why Mitchell and Flynn are back one last time to make their final predictions for the NFL season.

BRIAN FLYNN: This is going to be a whole lot of fun. I mean, it's weird that the two teams playing in the Super Bowl are the two teams I picked to win last round, right?
TORREY MITCHELL: I have no comment about that. I don't know what you're talking about.
BF: Remember? Two teams had very offensive showings, but the other two teams didn't really show up to play, so here we are.
TM: Well, I'll say right now that I'm obviously going to have to pick the Falcons to win the Super Bowl, because if they do…
BF: …we all lose?
TM: No, I would pretty much win this entire thing.
BF: No, that's not how this works.
TM: To be honest, if I was putting money on it, I would be picking the Patriots. But since I'm fully invested [in beating you], I'll say the Falcons win it 21-20 on a last-second field goal.
BF: I'm going Patriots, 31-24.
TM: That's probably a safer bet, but it's also a pretty big score for a Super Bowl.
BF: It is a big score for a Super Bowl.
TM: Yeah. I think the Patriots are going to win, but again, I'm picking the Falcons just to bet against you, and Boston.
BF: Wow.
TM: But I've got to give them credit. I was surprised at how good New England's defense was. Actually, I wasn't surprised. We had them in fantasy football this year, so we knew they were that good.
BF: Yeah we did.
TM: Yeah, Brian and I were actually on the same fantasy football team this season. There were 10 teams, and 20 of us played. Gally won it with the upset at the end. Huge upset.
BF: At least he's been quiet about it, right? (laughs)
TM: Yeah right. (laughs) It was Gally and Petry. [Begins humming "Happy" by Pharrell Williams]
BF: Well, at least I've got this one in the bag.
TM: (laughs) Yeah, probably, but we'll find out on Sunday.
Other Canadiens picks for the big game
"I'd like to see Atlanta win. Matt Ryan was our fantasy quarterback and he did well for us."
"The Patriots. Tom Brady is a Michigan alum, so that always makes the choice easier. I played fantasy football with the guys, but I basically just donated money."
"The Patriots. I'm a Bills fan but I like Tom Brady. New England has the experience."
"New England. They're just too good."
"The Pats. We had Brady in fantasy and he did well for us, so I'll stick with him to the end."
