MONTREAL – Here is Saturday’s Canadiens-Hurricanes match in numbers.

3 – Number of Staal brothers taking part in the match at the Bell Centre. Eric, Jordan and Jared suited up for the Hurricanes on their second match in two days.

6 – Number of players dropping their gloves in the first period of the match. Matthew Corrente, Tim Gleason, Nathan Gerbe, Ryan White, Jarred Tinordi and Brendan Gallagher were the pugilists.

358 – Combined weight in pounds of 5’5’’ Nathan Gerbe and 5’9’’ Brendan Gallagher, who surprisingly dropped the gloves and fought each other in the middle of the first period.

36 - Penalty minutes handed out to both teams in the first period. There was evidently no love lost between the Canadiens and the Hurricanes during the second match between the teams in 48 hours.

17 - Shots conceded by the Canadiens in the second period of the match. The Hurricanes could not convert on a long 5 vs. 3 powerplay, but scored twice to build a three-goal lead.

91 – Winning percentage for Lars Eller in the faceoff circle. He won 10 of 11 draws taken.

4 – Number of goals scored by Michael Bournival in three pre-season matches. He’s the leading goal scorer on the Canadiens so far in pre-season.
