CALGARY - Here's a numerical look at the Habs-Flames game at the Saddledome on Wednesday night.

42 – Number of years, to the day, since Guy Lafleur made his NHL debut for the Canadiens, registering an assist in a 4-4 tie against the Rangers at the Forum on October 9, 1971.

9 – Number of times Rene Bourque has faced off against the Flames in his career, suiting up for his 500th career NHL game against his former team on Wednesday night.
2 – Number of Habs players hailing from Alberta, including Bourque and Brendan Gallagher, compared with zero Quebec natives on the Flames’ roster.

2 – Combined number of penalty minutes accrued by the Habs and Flames in the first period, with just one high sticking minor, to Calgary’s Lance Bouma, doled out in the opening frame.

400 – Number of points racked up by Andrei Markov in his 13-year NHL career, hitting the milestone with an assist on P.K. Subban’s power play goal in the second period.

22 – Number of power play goals scored by Subban in his young career to date, getting the Habs on the board with his first of the season with the man advantage on Wednesday night.

4 – Number of goals scored by Lars Eller so far this year, tying him for second in the league with Alex Ovechkin in that category following his third period marker against the Flames.
