by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens

BUFFALO – Here's a numerical look at Friday night's game between the Canadiens and the Sabres.

600 – Number of career NHL games played by Tom Gilbert, who hit the milestone on Friday night in Buffalo. The Bloomington, MN native is the fourth-most experienced NHLer on the Habs current roster, behind Andrei Markov, Tomas Plekanec and Alexander Semin.

14 – Number of Habs who still count more experience in Montreal than Markov, after the Russian defenseman moved into sole possession of 15th spot on the Canadiens’ all-time list with his 854th game in bleu-blanc-rouge on Friday.

301 – Number of career NHL assists for Plekanec, who picked up three more on Friday via goals by Markov, Brendan Gallagher, and Max Pacioretty.

5 – Number of seasons Brian Flynn spent with the Sabres before being traded to Montreal last March. The American winger returned to Buffalo for the first time as a Hab on Friday, along with fellow ex-Sabre Torrey Mitchell, as both forwards were in the starting lineup to face their former team.

65 – Percent efficiency for Mitchell in the circle on Friday. The Greenfield Park, QC native won 13 of his 19 draws at the First Niagara Center.

8 – Number of assists racked up by P.K. Subban over eight games so far in 2015-16. Adding another trio of helpers to his tally on Friday in Buffalo, Subban moved into a first-place tie with Erik Karlsson for the most points scored by a defenseman this season.

0 - Number of times the Canadiens have scored less than three goals in a game so far this season. Adding another six against Buffalo on Friday, the Habs now lead the league with 29 through eight games.

43 – Rank held by Michel Therrien for most points won by an NHL head coach, moving past former Quebec Nordiques coach Michel Bergeron on Friday.
