by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens

PITTSBURGH - Here's a numerical look at Saturday's game between the Canadiens and Penguins in Pittsburgh.

2 – Number of games Manny Malhotra had to wait to make his way back into the lineup after having been a healthy scratch in Florida and New Jersey, making his 37th appearance of the season on Saturday in replacement of P-A Parenteau, who was out with an upper body injury.

4 – Consecutive number of games in which the Canadiens have opened the scoring, winning all four of those outings, in addition to the 12 other games this season in which they got on the board first.

6 – Number of his 16 total goals this season scored on road ice by Max Pacioretty – including three on the current five game road swing – following his opening marker on Saturday. The 26-year-old sniper also has 10 goals and 13 assists at the Bell Centre this year.

Pacioretty Starts it Off

8 – Number of goals scored by Pacioretty against the Penguins in his career, the fourth most he’s scored against any NHL team after the Leafs (12), Bruins (11) and Islanders (9).

91 – Percentage of Tomas Plekanec’s 11 NHL seasons in which the shifty center has picked up at least 25 points, hitting the plateau against the Penguins after missing the mark only once – his rookie year when he played just two games.

10 – Number of assists racked up by Dale Weise this season following his helper on David Desharnais’ first period goal, hitting double digits in that category for the first time in his career.

49 – Number of multipoint games enjoyed by Tom Gilbert in his career to date, picking up a goal and an assist on Saturday night to add to those totals.
