by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens
MONTREAL - Here's a numerical look at the Canadiens-Devils game at the Bell Centre on Tuesday night.

100 – Number of games Rene Bourque has contested in a Canadiens uniform since arriving in Montreal in January 2012, including Tuesday night’s contest against New Jersey.

5 – Number of times Canadiens captain Brian Gionta and his brother, Devils forward Stephen Gionta, have gone up against one another over the course of their NHL careers, including Tuesday night’s game in Montreal. The pair squared off for the first time this season as Stephen was sidelined due to injury for both previous meetings in early December.

1.85 – Goals-against average amassed by Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur in 69 appearances against the Canadiens prior to Tuesday night, tops among any team the three-time Stanley Cup champ has battled over the course of his NHL career. Entering the game, Brodeur boasted a 44-19-6 record and a .929 save percentage against Montreal.

2 – Number of goals Max Pacioretty has scored this season on Bell Centre ice against the Devils, notching a goal in the first period on a wicked wrister that beat Brodeur upstairs. With that tally, the Canadiens sniper reached the 20-goal plateau for the second time in his NHL career.

6 – Number of shots Rene Bourque fired in Martin Brodeur’s direction on Tuesday night, a new season-high for the 32-year-old forward.

899 – Number of shots that Canadiens players have managed to block since the start of the 2013-14 campaign, including Tuesday night, upping their league-leading tally in that category by blocking 15 shots against the Devils.
