The Numbers Game: Jan. 31, 2009

by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens
Here is a numerical look at the matinee meeting between the Canadiens and Kings on Saturday afternoon at the Bell Centre.

6-Games won by the Canadiens this season despite having trailed after two periods.

152-Games played for the Kings by Tom Kostopoulos before the rugged winger signed with the Canadiens prior to last season.

9-Years since the Kings last won a game in Montreal. The Habs have come out on top in each of the last four meetings, dating back to a Kings victory back on December 11, 1999 at the Molson Centre.

5-Goals scored by Andrei Kostitsyn in the seven afternoon games he’s played in his young career.

5-Habs who have now reached the 10-goal plateau this season once Tomas Plekanec beat the Kings’ Jonathan Quick in the first period.

13-Combined hits and blocked shots racked up by an especially hostile and fired up Mike Komisarek, who registered eight hits and five blocked shots on the day.

8-Years to the day since George Gillett purchased his majority share of the Canadiens back in 2001.
