by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens

MONTREAL -- Here's a numerical look at Sunday afternoon's game against the Hurricanes at the Bell Centre.

2 -- Number of players on the Bell Centre ice who hit the 900-career NHL games played milestone on Sunday. Andrei Markov achieved the feat among the Habs, while Eric Staal did so among the Hurricanes -- both players having spent their entire careers with their respective teams.

3 -- Number of all-time defensemen who have played 900-plus career NHL games with the Canadiens. Markov became the latest to join the select group of Habs which otherwise includes Larry Robinson (1,202 games) and Serge Savard (917 games).

1 -- Number of all-time Canadiens defensemen remaining ahead of Markov for most career assists as a Hab. Markov took sole possession of the second spot in Habs history with his 407th career assist on Sunday, overtaking Guy Lapointe (406) to sit 279 shy of Larry Robinson’s all-time lead (686).

4,242 -- Numbers of days, since first being drafted by the San Jose Sharks 126th overall in 2004, it took Torrey Mitchell to reach the 500-career NHL games played milestone on Sunday.

50 -- Percentage of all-time Super Bowl weekends which have been complemented by a pair of back-to-back Habs games. A Montreal tradition since the 1990-91 NHL season, the Canadiens’ 25th edition of Super Bowl weekend games wrapped up against the Carolina Hurricanes just as the Carolina Panthers were getting set to take on the Denver Broncos at Super Bowl 50.

50 -- Percentage of his career NHL seasons in which Max Pacioretty has scored at least 20 goals, reaching the mark for the fourth time on Sunday, and third time in as many years.

1 -- Number of Habs, since the turn of the century, who have enjoyed more 20-goal seasons than Pacioretty. The Habs captain is surpassed by only Tomas Plekanec in that category, who has achieved the feat on seven occasions.

3 -- Number of times P.K. Subban has enjoyed a six-game point streak over the course of his career. The All-Star defenseman kept his current point-streak alive with an assist on Pacioretty’s second-period goal, bringing his total to nine points in his last six outings.

12 -- Number of times Subban and Markov have teamed up to share assists on goals so far this season, each picking up a helper once again on Pacioretty’s equalizer.
