The Numbers Game: February 17, 2016

by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens

DENVER - Here's a numerical look at Wednesday night's game against the Avalanche in Denver.

2 – Number of players in the Montreal lineup who were facing the Avalanche for the first time in their respective careers on Wednesday night, with both Jacob De La Rose and Sven Andrighetto suiting up for their Colorado debuts.

1 – Number of teams against whom Andrei Markov has registered a point per game in his career, getting his 13th point in his 13th game against Colorado with his opening goal in the first period.

4 – Number of shots fired by Max Pacioretty against the Avs – having now registered at least one shot in every game he’s played this season – to surpass Tyler Seguin for third in the NHL in that category in 2015-16.

2 – Number of times Greg Pateryn has been in the lineup for three consecutive games this season, doing so on Wednesday for the first time since he suited up for five straight in November.

6 – Number of Habs who have hit double digits in goals this season, with Lars Eller potting his 10th of the year in the second period off a great feed from Pacioretty.

7 – Number of even-strength shifts required by Pacioretty and Eller to light the lamp in their first game on the same line since a brief stint together in 2011-12.

4 – Number of shots blocked by Markov in the game, becoming the first Hab to crack the century mark for blocks this season, with 102.
