by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens
MONTREAL - Here's a numerical look at the Canadiens-Islanders matchup at the Bell Centre on Thursday night.

5 – Number of netminders who have played at least one game for the Islanders so far this season, with Rick DiPietro, Dwayne Roloson, Kevin Poulin, Nathan Lawson and Mikko Koskinen taking turns between the pipes for New York this season.

Highlights Canadiens - Islanders
36 – Number of years since Ken Dryden made his target mask famous in Montreal, inspiring the design of current Habs netminder Alex Auld who donned his own version of the Hall-of-Famers helmet on Thursday night.

300 – Number of games played by Andrei Kostitsyn so far in his NHL career, all for the Canadiens, hitting the milestone against the Islanders on Thursday night.

3 – Number of first period power plays cut short after the team with the man advantage took an offsetting penalty.

109 – Consecutive number of games that Habs’ iron man Hal Gill had disputed before missing Thursday’s matchup against the Islanders with an upper-body injury. Brian Gionta and his 97 consecutive games played now hold the title.

443 – Number of days since Ryan White last picked up a point in an NHL game, picking up his first career point on November 24, 2009 and chipping in with an assist hours after being called up from Hamilton on Thursday.

3 – Combined number of goals scored in the second period on Thursday night, five less than the eight-goal second frame the Habs experience one night earlier in Boston.

20 – Number of shots fired in Koskinen’s direction by the Canadiens in the second period alone.

8 – Number of times in the past 13 games in which the Canadiens have fired at least 40 shots on goal, including a 40-shot night against the Islanders.
