The Numbers Game - Dec. 30, 2008

by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens
Here’s a look at the Canadiens’ 2-1 shootout win over the Lightning Tuesday night in Tampa.

13 – Years since the Canadiens last won a game on Dec. 30, going 0-2-0-2 since a 4-1 win over Ottawa in 1995.

12 – Games in which the Habs have earned at least a point with Carey Price in between the pipes.  Guy Carbonneau’s squad is 8-0-4 on the nights where the 21-year-old got the starting nod, a stretch that began on Nov. 20.

4 – Consecutive points amassed by Maxim Lapierre on the Habs’ last four goals after assisting on good buddy Guillaume Latendresse’s marker against the Lightning; that followed up Lapierre’s hat trick against Florida 24 hours earlier.

2 – Game-winners added to Lapierre’s resume during the sweep through the Sunshine State.

3 – Shifts by Alex Tanguay before the veteran winger’s night came to an end following a hard hit by Evgeny Artyukhin.

.667 – Canadiens’ winning percentage in back-to-back games, in which they've posted a 4-2 record.

3 – Times Montreal has swept their two-game Florida journey over the years.

16 – One-goal losses suffered by the Lightning this season, the most in the NHL.

22 – Season-low shots given up against Tampa Bay on Tuesday, marking the second time the opposition has thrown so little rubber.
