MONTREAL – Here's a numerical look at the game between the Canadiens and the Sabres at the Bell Centre on Monday night.

40:50 – Time required for Tomas Plekanec and Marc-Andre Bergeron to set the table for Andrei Kostitsyn’s seventh of the season, a carbon copy of the one-timer he blasted past the Thrashers last Saturday.

9 – Games over his last 11 contests in which Kostitsyn has picked up at least a point, with the sniping winger having piled up six goals and six assists over that span.
– Number of shots fired by the elder Kostitsyn with the man advantage on Monday night, finding the back of the net on both occasions and finishing with a pair of power play markers in the game.

5 – Length in games of Bergeron’s current point streak, the second-longest such string of his NHL career, behind only his seven-game streak in March 2004.

– Times Ryan O’Byrne has dropped the gloves this season, with the king-sized defenseman coming oh so close to doing so with the Sabres’ Adam Mair before the referee had other plans and broke up the potential scuffle.

– Game-high number of shots blocked by rugged blue-liner O’Byrne in the contest.

– Average number of points per game amassed by Plekanec to date, posting 34 points in 34 games thus far, including two assists against the Sabres.

9 – Times this season that Plekanec has picked up at least a pair of assists in a single game.

23 – Number of faceoffs won by Plekanec against the Sabres, taking 88% of his 26 draws on the night.

– Time in seconds needed for Michael Cammalleri to knot the game back at three after the Sabres had just notched their third goal of the night. Tim Kennedy’s goal was still being announced over the Bell Centre P.A. system when Cammy blasted home his 18th of the season.
