MONTREAL - Shortly after the 2018-19 campaign came to a close, we caught up with defenseman Christian Folin to learn more about his likes in a variety of different categories.

ONE RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD PEOPLE MUST TRY

When I was still in school, I used to go to Pizzeria Valentin every Friday afternoon in Kungsbacka. We were in class from 8:00 a.m. until noon, and I'd be at the restaurant by 12:15 p.m. They had a couple of soccer jerseys hanging up on the wall from different local teams. It had a real small-town feel to it. You get in there and you can order whatever you want. They do a tremendous job. They do great thin crust and throw some different meats on there with red sauce. They have a couple of different sauces, garlic sauce, hot sauce. That really tops it off.

ONE CAR PEOPLE MUST DRIVE

It has to be a Volvo. My dad works for Volvo, so our family drove a lot of them. Then, I worked there for two summers. I didn't have anything to do with cars, but I was in the logistical part of it. I was breaking down boxes and stuff like that while working in the warehouse. It was a good summer job. I've had the privilege to drive a few Volvos, and I really like them. They're a good car. You see a lot of them in Montreal, too. They're pretty popular.

ONE TV SHOW PEOPLE MUST WATCH

Friends. It's my favorite TV show of all time. I just fell in love with it. For me, it was kind of watching it to learn English, too. It really helped me. You watch those 10 seasons four or five times over and you're going to pick up a few things. I watched it with subtitles, so you get a feel for the words. One of the first things you knew is Joey says, 'Hey! How you doin'?' That's one of the things that was helpful over here.

On Jessica's behalf...

ONE ALBUM PEOPLE MUST ADD TO THEIR COLLECTION

Anything by Kygo. He has that house feel to him, but he's also really good at incorporating all the melodies and sounds. He works with really great artists. You can go on YouTube and check out everything he does. You'll have plenty of music to listen to.

ONE BOOK PEOPLE MUST READ

I really like biographies. I read a book about Zlatan Ibrahimović a while back. I've read books about David Beckham and Wayne Rooney. Sometimes, you get their perspective in a good way. It's kind of nice to compare that with your own career. If you're sitting on a plane, and you just played a game somewhere, you can read about how they dealt with their teammates or their coach. It's a good learning tool for your own career, too.

ONE MOVIE PEOPLE MUST WATCH

The Shawshank Redemption. I've watched it a couple of times, and it just gets better every time. The storyline really evolves. The main character finds a way through it all and manages to get out somehow.

ONE BRAND OF CLOTHING PEOPLE MUST WEAR

For some reason, it's always been Nike. When I was a kid, I wanted Nike running shoes, Nike soccer cleats, Nike socks, I wanted everything Nike. I always go to the outlet store and buy stuff. It just continued over the years. Right now, I'm even sitting with a pair of Nike shoes on.

ONE ACTIVITY PEOPLE MUST TRY

Windsurfing. I tried it a couple of summers ago. It's really, really hard if the wind isn't blowing. If it's blowing too much, you really have to pay attention. But, when you get out on the water and you have good wind, you take off and you can feel the speed. It's an unbelievable feeling, like you're being pulled away from everything.

Incredible evening on the ocean!!

ONE EXOTIC FOOD PEOPLE MUST TRY

Herring a is big thing in Sweden. For Christmas back home, they put herring in small jars with mustard and different kinds of flavors on them. It's not really exotic, but it's different.
