MONTREAL - With Christmas just around the corner, the Montreal Canadiens will once again participate in their traditional community initiatives.

Canadiens Food Drive in support of the Media's Big Food Drive

On Saturday December 2nd, the Canadiens will hold a food drive in support of the Media's Big Food Drive. Fans attending the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs are invited to bring non perishable food as the players' wives and volunteers from Harvest Montreal, Sun Youth and La Socit Saint-Vincent-de-Paul will be at the various entrances of the Bell Centre to collect the donations. Youppi and a few Montreal Canadiens Alumni will deliver the food collected to the RDS headquarters on Thursday December 7th, day of the Media's Big Food Drive. More details

Annual Children's Hospital Visits

For a 42nd consecutive year, the Canadiens' organization will visit young patients at both the Sainte-Justine and Montreal Children's Hospitals on Wednesday December 13th. Again, players and members of the coaching staff will visit children in their rooms and offer each child a gift and best wishes. The visits will begin at 2:00 p.m. in both hospitals as the team will be divided in two groups to give as many children as possible the chance to share some memorable moments with their idols.

The Canadiens will be joined by clowns from the Super Circus, a Gillett Entertainment Group production, who will amuse the children and distribute souvenirs and circus tickets. The 11th edition of the Super Circus is presented at the Bell Centre from December 25-28. Gillett Entertainment Group is pleased to offer tickets to support charitable organizations working with the less fortunate and to give children the chance to live magical moments during the holidays.

The Canadiens in the community

Throughout the year, the Canadiens' Community Relations department organizes more than a dozen events for hockey fans and charitable organizations. The Montreal Canadiens are proud to contribute to Montreal and Quebec's heritage, not only through their on-ice accomplishments, but also with their commitment to the community.
