MONTREAL (March 23, 2020) - Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the team has agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract (2020-21 to 2022-23) with forward Jesse Ylönen.

The 6'1" and 172 lbs forward played 53 games with the Finnish Liiga's Lahti Pelicans in 2019-20. Ylönen, 20, ranked second on the team in goals and fourth in points. He also served 14 penalty minutes.
Ylönen played 106 career games with Lahti since making his professional debut in 2018-19. The Scottsdale, AZ native recorded 49 points (25 goals, 24 assists) and 49 penalty minutes. He added one assist in three career playoff contests.
Selected in the second round (35th overall) by the Canadiens at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, Ylönen joined the AHL's Laval Rocket following the end of his season in Finland but did not play any game in the AHL.
