MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation is pleased to host its RadioTéléDON #ourGOALtoASSIST on Wednesday, November 29 in partnership with rights holders 98,5 fm, RDS and TSN Radio 690. Presented in collaboration with Bell and Desjardins, the event aims to support the efforts of the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation to provide a brighter and healthier future for children in need, and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle among Quebec youth.

From 5:00 p.m. on, studio hosts from RDS as well as both radio stations will be inviting viewers and listeners to make a pledge to the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation. Members of the Montreal Canadiens family will be on hand during various broadcasts in support of the RadioTéléDON. At the Bell Centre, Chantal Machabée from RDS will be on site to conduct interviews and comedian Mathieu Baron will host the Foundation's very first Facebook Live on their Facebook page, which will take you behind the scenes of the event. Canadiens Alumni, including Guy Lafleur, Réjean Houle and Steve Bégin, the current players' spouses as well as many Quebec celebrities will be working the phones to receive pledges from the general public until the end of the hockey game between the Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators.

"Through its actions, the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation works to improve children's health. Whether it's with donations to charitable organizations across the Province of Quebec, the BLEU BLANC BOUGE outdoor rinks and the activation programs in the communities where they are built, the Foundation is proud to team up with Canadiens' rights holders 98,5 fm, RDS and TSN Radio 690 in sharing its stories and making this annual fundraising event a resounding success," said Geoff Molson, President and CEO of the Montreal Canadiens. "We certainly hope that all listeners and fans will tune in and be generous in helping us reach our objective."

Over the past eight years, the Foundation has raised over $880,000 through this event. This year's goal is to reach a total of $1 million in donations in nine years.

About the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation

The Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation encourages physical activity and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle among underprivileged youth aged 4 to 17 years old. Since its inception in August 2000, the Foundation has donated over $27 million to over 755 charitable endeavours throughout the province of Quebec working for the well-being of underprivileged children.

The Foundation fulfills its mandate in two ways: first, through a unique flagship project - the BLEU BLANC BOUGE program - which consists of building community refrigerated and multisport rinks; secondly, by providing financial support to organizations whose projects and programs enable children to adopt healthy lifestyles by being more active.
