The big show

by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens

On April 5, the Canadiens welcomed the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks to the Bell Centre with more than just two points on the line. With a win, the Habs could also lock up a spot in the 2011 postseason.

Tied 1-1 after 60 minutes, P.K. Subban played the hero in front of the home crowd, blasting the winner past Corey Crawford 1:19 into the extra frame. With the goal, the rookie blue-liner sent the Habs to the playoffs for the fourth-straight spring – and the 82nd time in franchise history. To mark the occasion, Subban and All-Star netminder Carey Price celebrated by launching themselves into each other at center ice.
