The skinny
By merely stepping onto the ice this season, Price took another step up the Canadiens' record books. With 2019-20 being his 13th season in Montreal, the veteran backstop overtook Patrick Roy for most career seasons by a goalie in team history.* He started off the campaign strong, posting a 6-3-1 record, 2.59 goals-against average, .914 save percentage and one shutout in October. And after seeing his numbers dip in November, Price rebounded in December including a stretch in which he posted a 6-3-0 record, 2.11 GAA and .927 SV% heading into the Christmas break.

In mid-January, Price picked up his 20th win of the season. It was the 10th time he had collected that many victories in a campaign, moving him ahead of Jacques Plante for most all-time on the Habs.* A few weeks later, he earned the 47th shutout of his storied career, which vaulted him past Ken Dryden into third place in franchise history in that category. Price finished with a 27-25-6 record, 2.79 GAA, .909 SV%, and four shutouts, and was the League leader in minutes (3,439:49) and starts (58) in 2019-20.
