MONTREAL - Sean Farrell's historic season has not gone unnoticed.
Quite the contrary: USA Hockey announced on Monday morning that the 19-year-old forward was the 2021 winner of the Dave Tyler Junior Player of the Year Award, given to the most outstanding American-born player in Junior hockey.
A fourth-round pick by the Canadiens in 2020, Farrell set a number of USHL records in 2021 en route to only the second 100-point season in league history. He was named 2021 USHL Player of the Year in June. The Hopkinton, MA native scored 29 goals and collected 72 assists in 53 games last season, and added 10 points in the playoffs to help the Steel take the Clark Cup championship.

He becomes the second member of the Canadiens organization to earn the Dave Tyler distinction, after Jeff Petry in 2006-07 with the Des Moines Buccaneers. Farrell is set to join the collegiate ranks this coming season. He's expected to play for Harvard in the NCAA. Photo credit: USHL
