BROSSARD - The Canadiens announced on Friday that they had sent defensemen David Schlemko (conditioning stint) and Mark Streit down to the AHL's Laval Rocket.

Schlemko was injured on the first day of training camp and has not played since the start of the season. He will be in the lineup on Friday night for Laval's game against the Binghamton Devils at Place Bell.

As for Streit, the 39-year-old was placed on waivers 24 hours prior and went unclaimed. The Swiss defender played in the Habs' first two regular season games - in Buffalo and Washington - in which he registered a minus-2 differential and no points.
