Rinat Valiev reassigned to the Laval Rocket

The defenseman only played two games for the Canadiens before getting hurt

BROSSARD - The Canadiens announced on Tuesday that they had reassigned defenseman Rinat Valiev to the AHL's Laval Rocket.

The 22-year-old Russian, acquired in the trade that sent Tomas Plekanec to the Toronto Maple Leafs, played two games for the Habs before suffering a lower-body injury on March 8 in Florida.
He resumed practicing on Tuesday morning with the big club before returning to Laval.
In two NHL games this season, Valiev did not record any points, and registered two penalty minutes and two shots on goal.
