TORONTO - A new Hab joined the fray in Toronto, with Alexander Romanov hitting the ice for the first time following his quarantine in the bubble.

Romanov won't be eligible to participate in game action during the Qualifying Round or playoffs, but he will practice alongside his new teammates while learning the ropes of life as an NHLer. The Russian rearguard met the media via Zoom on Friday, following media ops by captain Shea Weber and head coach Claude Julien.

Keep reading for the best quotes from the bubble.

Shea Weber on how the team is working on the power play before facing off against the Penguins:

"It's a little bit of a new set up for us right now, so it's just like anything - it's going to take time. We're dedicating time before and after practice and trying to get that chemistry. But some guys are playing in different spots, and we're trying to learn on the fly here as we go. I still think we did a few good things [against Toronto on Tuesday], but we've got to get clicking and make sure everybody's working together."

Claude Julien on his first impressions of the team's newest addition:

"I saw a young man who was excited to join us. He was happy, and it showed on the ice - it's been at least two weeks since he was able to skate. He spent a week in quarantine here in Toronto, so for him it was like getting out of prison [laughs]. He got the chance to be with his teammates and see players he met last year at development camp. His attitude is excellent, and the excitement around having him at practice was refreshing, to be honest."

Julien on what it will take to knock off the Pens in the Best-of-5 Qualifying Round series:

"When we play fast, the puck comes out of our end. When we play fast, we're able to kill plays quickly. When we play fast, our transition game is good. When we play fast, our forecheck is good - our scoring chances are good. We've relied a lot on playing fast, and it's not about speed and being reckless. It's playing fast in facets of the game that are important. We had a good practice today - we had good pace, and the guys seemed excited about tomorrow. Hopefully we can bring that to the forefront when they drop the puck."

Alexander Romanov reflecting on his first day as a Hab:

"Now it's [real]. I'm on the team. I'm so happy because I'm with the Montreal Canadiens."

On his goals in Toronto:

"My goals for the next week are to be with the team, support the team, and training... training a lot."

On what life was like in Toronto prior to joining his new teammates:

"I was so nervous. Last week was so boring, I was sitting in one room in the hotel, and I couldn't leave. I was so bored and nervous - I was just waiting to be able to go to the ice with the guys."
