MONTREAL – With the Habs hunting down the sixth spot in the East, Jacques Martin is calling on Carey Price
to close the door on the Hurricanes on Wednesday night.
Price will be between the pipes for the first time since last Wednesday’s 40-save shootout loss against the Sabres, when he was awarded second star honors for his stellar night’s work. The 22-year-old will be in the starting lineup at home for the first time since the Olympic break, having last thrilled the Bell Centre faithful by disposing of the league-leading Washington Capitals on February 10.
In his only outing against the ‘Canes this season, Price led the Habs to a 3-2 shootout win with a 30-save performance on November 17. He holds a lifetime 2-2-1 record against Carolina with a 2.68 goals-against average to go with a sparkling .924 save percentage.
