It will mark the second and final regular-season meeting between the two teams. The Canadiens bested the Stars in overtime back on January 4 in Dallas.
The contest will also mark defenseman Greg Pateryn's return to Montreal. He was traded to the Stars in exchange for Jordie Benn back on February 28.
Despite officially being eliminated from playoff contention, teams like the Stars remain a constant threat, which is something Claude Julien's troops found out first-hand last week in losses to the Detroit Red Wings and Carolina Hurricanes.
The Stars won their last two outings, most recently posting an overtime win against the Devils in New Jersey. That was the first of five straight road games for Lindy Ruff's contingent. Following the tilt in Montreal, they'll head to Boston, Carolina and Tampa.
For the visitors, Tyler Seguin (25 goals and 70 points) and Jamie Benn (25 goals and 67 points) are among the League's top point-getters.
Goaltender Kari Lehtonen is also playing good hockey as of late. He was named the NHL's Second Star of the Week after picking up three wins - including one shutout - and suffering one shootout loss, while posting a 0.98 goals-against average and a .959 save percentage.
The Canadiens, meanwhile, are in the midst of a long homestand. The game against the Stars will be their fifth straight in front of the Bell Centre faithful. After a pair of defeats last week, the Canadiens rebounded with a solid performance against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. Andrei Markov collected two goals and an assist to move to within one point of tying Guy Lapointe for second spot on the Canadiens' all-time points list among defensemen.
