MONTREAL - David Schlemko will make his Habs debut on Wednesday night against the Senators.

Head coach Claude Julien confirmed the news a few hours before puck drop.

The 30-year-old defenseman, who was acquired over the summer, has been absent since the start of training camp after suffering a hand injury. He will take Victor Mete's spot in the lineup.

In 62 games with the San Jose Sharks last season, Schlemko scored two goals and collected 16 assists.

Julien also confirmed that defenseman Shea Weber wasn't ready to return and would miss a fifth consecutive game.
