- The Canadiens skated in Brossard on Monday morning, the last full day of practice before the season opening match against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

- Absent were Douglas Murray, Davis Drewiske and Alexei Emelin. Drewiske and Emelin are rehabbing their respective injuries, while Murray has suffered an upper-body injury during practice on Sunday and will be out for four to six week.

- The players spent a great deal of time perfecting the powerplay, with five-on-four and five-on-three puck movement drills occurring at both ends of the rink.
