- The Canadiens skated in Brossard on Wednesday morning right before taking the team bus to Ottawa.

- Prospect Magnus Nygren ringed a snap shot off the facemask of Peter Budaj early in the practice. Nygren quickly apologized to the veteran netminder and there was no harm done.

- Martin St-Pierre, Darren Dietz, Christian Thomas, Patrick Holland, Greg Pateryn, Nick Tarnasky and Nathan Beaulieu were also on the ice practicing with the rest of Wednesday night's lineup. Beaulieu will make his pre-season debut Wednesday night in Ottawa.

- Players who will sit out Wednesday night’s game against the Senators did not participate in practice on the main rink. Andrei Markov, Tomas Plekanec, Brian Gionta, Rene Bourque, Francis Bouillon, P.K. Subban, Josh Gorges, David Desharnais, Max Pacioretty and Daniel Briere worked on one-on-one drills on the other surface.

- Absent with injury were George Parros, Douglas Murray and Davis Drewiske.
