- The Canadiens held their first full practice session featuring all three newcomers on Friday afternoon, as Torrey Mitchell, Brian Flynn and Jeff Petry hit the ice at Gila River Arena in Glendale, AZ alongside the rest of their teammates. Michel Therrien’s troops skated for about 40 minutes.

- The Canadiens’ bench boss confirmed that Carey Price would get the start in goal on Saturday night against the Coyotes, and that Sergei Gonchar would take Mike Weaver’s spot in the lineup on defense.

- While rearguard Alexei Emelin is inching closer to a return to active duty, he hasn’t yet been given the green light.
