BROSSARD – While several of their teammates were in Sochi or returning home from their Olympic journeys, the Canadiens held a practice at the Bell Sports Complex, the team’s second since the start of the Olympic break.
New recruits at practice on Thursday include ex-NHLers Jimmy Waite and Sebastien Bordeleau, plus three players from the LNAH’s Laval Braves: Patrick Lapostolle, Vincent Richer and Maxime Mallette. Pierre Allard, Patrice Brisebois, Martin Houle and Ken Morin, who were all on the ice with the team yesterday, were also at practice.
Head coach Michel Therrien was also on the ice after sitting out yesterday.
Absent were Michael Bournival, Davis Drewiske and Brandon Prust. Bournival and Prust are day-to-day with injuries, while Drewiske is away for family reasons.
Forward Alex Galchenyuk has been cleared for contact and is expected to make his return to play following the Olympic break.
