MONTREAL - Martin St-Louis earned his first win behind the bench in dramatic fashion as the Canadiens topped the St. Louis Blues 3-2 in overtime.

Two Habs were playing in milestone games on Thursday. Alex Romanov hit the century mark with Montreal while Paul Byron reached 500 career games played.
In addition to having his family in attendance, the latter also celebrated with the night's opening goal, beating Ville Husso at 7:13 to make it 1-0.
It marked the first time the Canadiens scored first in a game since January 30.

The Blues for their part got on the board with just 94 seconds remaining in the opening frame. Robert Thomas scored the equalizer shorthanded to end a period in which the Blues were outshot 11-9.
Montreal came out strong for the middle 20, but could not find the go-ahead goal. The home side held the visitors to just four shots while testing Husso nine times, but the score remained unchanged through 40.
The goaltenders' duel continued late into the final frame, until Pavel Buchnevich put the Blues ahead at 18:41. That lead was shortlived as Cole Caufield buried the tying goal with just 10 seconds left on the clock.
