MONTREAL - The Canadiens came back from a pair of one-goal deficits, but couldn't top the Dallas Stars in OT on Thursday

It was St. Patrick's Night at the Bell Centre and fans were decked out in green for the occasion.
Jake Allen and Christian Dvorak meanwhile were decked out in bleu-blanc-rouge for the first time in several weeks. The pair were back in the lineup following injuries suffered on Jan. 12 and Jan. 24 respectively.
It was the team in green however that got on the board first. After a scoreless opening 18:33, Radek Faksa took a pass from Michael Raffl and dished it in off Allen's skate. It was the only goal in a period in which the Stars held a 12-9 edge in shots.
The two teams traded goals in the middle frame and Dallas held on to a one-goal advantage.
At 9:36 Cole Caufield snuck into open space and one-timed a Nick Suzuki pass on the power play to make it 1-1. It was Caufield's 12th goal of the season and fifth in his last three games.

Jamie Benn replied for Dallas at 15:51 to retake the 2-1 lead heading into the break.
Back for the third with both teams down a man, it was Suzuki and Caufield again who found the equalizer. This time a chip pass from Caufield set up Suzuki who made a move to slip it by Jake Oettinger.

Less than four minutes later Corey Schueneman gave Montreal its first lead of the game with his first NHL goal.

But the lead was shortlived as John Klingberg found the back of the net at 15:14 to make it 3-3 and force OT.
In the extra frame it was Klingberg again who scored the game-winner with just 10 seconds left on the clock.
The Canadiens will be back in action on Saturday when the Ottawa Senators visit the Bell Centre.
