Numbers Game-LOSS

RALEIGH - Here's a numerical look at Sunday night's game against the Hurricanes at PNC Arena.

14 - The Canadiens concluded the last of their 14 sets of back-to-back games this season on Saturday against the Hurricanes. Montreal owns a 7-5-2 record in the first games of those series, and 5-8-1 in the second.
21 - Carey Price was rather busy in the opening frame, facing and stopping 21 Hurricanes shots in the period to help his team stay in the game. Paul Byron finally opened the scoring with 5:02 to go in the first. The Canadiens headed to the room up 1-0 after 20.
10 - With his 15th goal of the season, Byron reached the 30-point plateau this season. He becomes the 10th Canadiens player to reach the mark in 2018-19. The last time the Canadiens had as many players with 30 points or more was in 2005-06.

14:34 - After weathering the Hurricanes' 21-shot onslaught in the first period, the Canadiens were much stingier on defense in the second. The 'Canes only managed four shots in the middle frame and did not get a single one on Price until the 14:34 mark of the period. The Habs, meanwhile, registered nine shots of their own on Carolina netminder Curtis McElhinney.
