Numbers Game

MONTREAL - Here's a numerical look at Saturday night's game between the Canadiens and the Vegas Golden Knights at the Bell Centre.

16 - Defenseman David Schlemko missed the first 16 games of the season before returning to the Canadiens' lineup on Saturday night. The 31-year-old had been sidelined with a a knee injury suffered during the preseason. Schlemko suited up for just 37 games last year due to injury. Xavier Ouellet and Noah Juulsen were both healthy scratches on the back end.
626 - Number of games former captain Max Pacioretty played in a Canadiens uniform over 10 seasons before being traded to the Golden Knights in early September. Pacioretty made his first visit back to Montreal as a member of the opposition on Saturday night, and was given a warm welcome by the fans.

15 - Number of shots the Canadiens afforded the Golden Knights during the opening 20 minutes of play on Saturday night, with Vegas lighting the lamp behind starter Antti Niemi on two ocassions. Brad Hunt and Jonathan Marchessault found the back of the net, putting Gerard Gallant's squad up 2-0 at the intermission. For their part, the Canadiens managed just four shots on Golden Knights starter Marc-Andre Fleury.
65 - Number of seconds that elapsed in between goals by Charles Hudon and Andrew Shaw at the 6:04 and 7:09 marks of the second period, respectively, to tie things up 2-2 in the middle frame on Saturday night. While Hudon snapped an eight-game goal drought with his marker, scored for a second consecutive game.

20 - With an assist on Shaw's goal, Max Domi became the first player on the Canadiens this season to reach the 20-point plateau. He also extended his point streak to six straight games in the process. Domi boasts 10 points during his current run.

2:48 - Just 2:48 after the Canadiens blitzed Fleury with back-to-back strikes, Finnish phenom Jesperi Kotkaniemi factored in on the scoring as well with his third goal of the 2018-19 campaign at the 9:57 mark of the period. Kenny Agostino, who was appearing in his second game with the Habs since being recalled from the AHL's Laval Rocket, collected an assist on the play for his first career point in Canadiens colors.

9 - Number of two-goal games Shaw has registered over the course of his NHL career, adding another one to his resume on Saturday night when he tied things up at four goals apiece with a goal at the 9:20 mark of the third period. It was his first two-goal effort since November 4, 2017.
3 - Number of consecutive games in which Tomas Tatar has scored, capping a beautiful individual effort with his seventh goal of the season on Saturday night to put the Canadiens up 5-4 with 7:43 remaining in regulation time.
