TORONTO - The Habs dropped a hard-fought 2-1 decision in the series-opening tilt on Wednesday, with Carey Price making 29 saves and Shea Weber scoring in a third-straight postseason game.

Philly had a slight edge in a few statistical categories in Game 1, edging the Canadiens 31-28 in shots, 54% to 46% in the faceoff circle, and - most importantly - 2-1 on the scoreboard. Despite the loss, Nick Suzuki, Phillip Danault, Shea Weber, Carey Price, and Claude Julien saw plenty of positives coming out of the opening game.

Read on for some of their best quotes from the postgame pressers.

Suzuki shares his gratitude for Price's incredible stick save on Scott Laughton:

"I wasn't quite sure what it hit when it was coming at me. I just kind of tucked my head. I was hoping it was going to hit me and [I'd] block the shot, but Carey did an unbelievable job there saving that and saving my head, for sure."

Price with a much more understated explanation of his All-World save on Laughton:

"Obviously I was just desperate there and Nick made himself big and I think he got a piece of it as well."

On top of his efforts impersonating Price in the crease, Suzuki showcased his elite talent with the puck all night long, and Julien was once again thrilled to see him and the team's other up-and-comers make such an impact in Game 1:

"He had a great game. He was obviously one of our better players again tonight. It's encouraging to see young players like him play the way he's playing right now. He's one of the reasons we're here in the First Round with a team at the other end with lots of depth and experience. Our young players don't seem to feel intimidated by that."

The Byron-Lehkonen-Danault line combined for seven shots, nine hits, and seven takeaways on Wednesday night. Danault gave his take on his line's success on the attack despite being relied upon for their defensive game:

"I think we're on the same page with our speed. We know they're a good team, but we have a lot of speed and that's our biggest strength, so we have to use it. That's what we did tonight. We just have to be hungrier and take it from there."

Shea Weber on a tight 2-1 loss to the top-seeded team in the Eastern Conference and what they need to do to beat the Flyers in Game 2:

"I thought we had a little bit of a rusty start. I thought we were slow out of the gates, maybe due to not playing for a bunch of days. I thought as the game went on we got better and we showed that we can play with them. We believe we can play with them. It's a seven-game series. It was a tight game tonight and it should be a good series going forward.

"I thought in the first, we didn't do a good job getting pucks behind their D. I think we flipped a lot of pucks to their D and they were able to use their transition speed like they want to. That's kind of something they thrive on."

Julien on his team overcoming somewhat of a wobbly start to go neck-and-neck with the powerful Flyers:

"I thought we did well. The first period was a tough period for us, whether it was because we hadn't played in the last four or five days, or whether we were a little nervous and trying to feel our way through. I thought from the second period on, we really started playing our game. We built some confidence in knowing we can play with these guys. That's the way I feel right now: they're an extremely good team. I'd like to think our team right now is a good enough team to play with these guys."
