After the game, defenseman Joel Edmundson, forward Paul Byron, goaltender Carey Price and forward Corey Perry spoke with reporters via Zoom.
They were followed by interim head coach Dominique Ducharme.
Here are a few highlights from their respective chats:
Edmundson on the impact of defenseman Jeff Petry's return:
He's been our best defenseman all year. You miss a guy like that, so you want him back as soon as possible. It's definitely nice to see him back out there. Talking to him over the past couple of days, he wanted to get back out there. His eyes have been looking like that for a week now. It's kind of scary. But, I don't think it affected him tonight.

Game 2 postgame media: Edmundson and Byron

Edmundson on the play of Joel Armia:
He's got good size and he uses his reach and his speed well. Some shifts, it looks like the puck is just glued to his blade. He's had a great playoff so far and we'll need him down the stretch.

Byron on Price's remarkable save on defenseman Alec Martinez in the second period:
He gives our group a lot of confidence. He makes a lot of big saves. He's always there for us. He's playing really well. His level of confidence and his energy are felt by the entire team.
Byron on returning to Montreal with the series tied up:
Our mission is to win the series. It's just one game. There's a lot of hockey left. It was important for us to win tonight. Vegas is very good at home. Now, it'll be great to play in front of our fans.

Price on the impact of Perry in the postseason:
He's been here before. That shows on the ice and in the locker room. He's got poise with the puck and he's a voice on the bench for us.

Game 2 postgame media: Price and Perry

Price on the outstanding defensive effort of the players in front of him:
These guys are out there paying the price every night. That's what the playoffs are all about. You have to earn every victory. Every bruise is worth it at the end of the day.

Perry on the key to victory in Game 2:
I think we got a bounce. I liked our start last game and we had chances last game. You've got to give them credit. Fleury made some big saves early on in Game 1 and kept it even. But, tonight we got a bounce and we rode that momentum.
Perry on the postseason journey with the Canadiens thus far:
It's exciting. This is the team I grew up cheering for. To put on that jersey each and every night and play for this franchise, it's a special feeling, especially when you're in the playoffs and you're battling with 20 other guys in the dressing room for one common goal. It's been a dream come true, but there's a lot of work left to be done.

Ducharme on the group's performance:
It's a huge win for us. At the same time, though, we want to be more consistent. We started to play on our heels when we took the lead. That's something we want to fix. We need to be more consistent for 60 minutes. We want to play like we did in the first part of the game.

Dominique Ducharme on the Game 2 win over Vegas

Ducharme on Petry and Shea Weber leading by example by blocking shots:
That's what playing at this time of year is all about. They showed a lot of character. We have a lot of that on our team. We reached the semi-finals for a reason, and we aren't done yet. There's a reason for that. Our players are engaged. They want to go the extra mile.
