Czech Republic gets shut out by Russia in quarterfinal round

The Czech Republic has been eliminated from the 2017 World Hockey Championship after losing to 3-0 Russia on Thursday.

Dmitri Orlov, Nikita Kucherov and Artemi Panarin scored for Russia, and Andrei Vasilevski made 27 saves in the win. Pavel Francouz made 23 saves in the losing effort.

Tomas Plekanec recorded two shots on net and finished with an even differential in 15:12 of play. Jakub Jerabek, meanwhile, registered two penalty minutes and an even differential in 4:18 of ice time.
