MONTREAL – On Wednesday, Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban announced his Foundation will be making a donation of $10 million over seven years to the Montreal Children's Hospital.
This is the largest philanthropic commitment by a professional athlete in Canadian history.
"Today is a special day for me," said Subban during the press conference held in the new P.K. Subban Atrium which was inaugurated on Wednesday. "Montreal has become my second home, so I want to give back to the children and their families. "
At the press conference, the defenseman also thanked the Montreal Canadiens organization.
"The Canadiens are committed to me and my family for eight years," said Subban. "Without this commitment, I would not be able to do this."
