MONTREAL – October 15 will forever be engraved in the memory of a few kids… whatever the outcome of the game between the Canadiens and the Colorado Avanlanche.
With the “Hockey Fights Cancer” month well underway, the Montreal Canadiens hockey club invited ten kids through the Leucan organization to come and live an unforgettable experience.
For its fifth consecutive year, those with suites were solicited and came through. More than 70 kids will be able to watch the game as a special guest in one of 50 participating suites.
As some will be living a magical moment, others will be “working” during Saturday’s tilt. One kid will be able to play the role of a journalist, another one will be able to comment the game from the press box with Pierre Houde of RDS. Others will also have a chance to ride on the Zamboni.
All the kids will attend a small reception before the game and get to meet Youppi! They'll also be able to meet a few players after the game.
The Montreal Canadiens coaches and personnel will be wearing a purple tie in order to show support for the fight against cancer. For the occasion, Carey Price
will be sporting his new mask to bring attention to the cause, a mask he’ll be wearing throughout October before putting up for bids. Vincent Cauchy is a writer for canadiens.com Translated by Lee Anne Vincent O’Connor
