The Hamilton Bulldogs kicked off their season at home in front of a packed house at Copps Coliseum. For many members of the team, it was their first time hitting the ice in front of the 8,819 fans waiting to cheer them on. Those in attendance were treated to some great hockey by the 2012-13 edition of the Bulldogs who lit the lamp four times over the course of the match. Veterans, Louis Leblanc (2) and Aaron Palushaj both found the back of the net, with newcomer Patrick Holland also following suit. Holland additionally assisted on Palushaj’s goal, giving him the first two points of his professional playing career. Jarred Tinordi also made his way onto the scoresheet, assisting on Leblanc’s first goal of the game. In nets, goaltender Robert Mayer stood tall for the Hamilton squad, turning away 39 of Marlies’ 40 shots on the night.
