With hockey finally kicking off in the AHL, the Bulldogs got their first taste of regular season action in Grand Rapids against the Griffins. Several Bulldogs newcomers posted their first point of the campaign in a tightly contested game that was ultimately decided in a shootout. Both Brendan Gallagher and Michaël Bournival made their way onto the scoresheet, with the latter signing the victory for the Bulldogs after beating netminder Tom McCollum with the game-winning shootout goal. The ‘Dogs play their first home game on October 19.
