No pain, no gain

PHILADELPHIA – Bumps and bruises are what the playoffs are all about. Despite having his share of both, Patrice Brisebois wasn’t about to miss the Canadiens’ big test in Philly tonight.

Sidelined by a leg injury for the past two games, the veteran Habs defenseman will be at his post on the Montreal blue line for Game 4 against the Flyers.

“You bet I’m ready,” confirmed Brisebois. “No player coming back to the lineup after an injury at this time of year is 100 percent. Resting and getting healthy is what the summer is for. Last I checked, it wasn’t summer yet and that’s why I’m playing tonight.”

Leading all Habs defensemen with five points despite his recent absence, Brisebois knows he’s far from the only player in the Habs’ dressing room ready for a war at the Wachovia Center tonight.

“We’ll do whatever it takes to pull this one off and come back home with the series tied 2-2,” vowed Brisebois. “Even if it takes 60, 65 or 70 minutes, we’ll battle right until the end.”
