My Essentials: Mathieu Darche

by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens
Some things in life, like water, air and hockey are absolutely essential for everyone, but is there anything else we simply couldn’t live without?  In a quest to find an answer we caught up with the always mysterious and insightful Mathieu Darche and put him on the hot seat to get his take on life’s little necessities.  Here’s what the gritty winger recommends checking out to read, watch or listen to if you’ve got a few spare hours to kill.

Movie everyone has to see:

I still can’t get over how much I loved The Usual Suspects the first time I saw it. I didn’t figure out what was going on until the very end. What a movie! And Kevin Spacey is great in it.

Album everyone should add to their collection:

I’m not a big music guy, but I’ve always liked Bon Jovi, so probably their greatest hits.

DVD box set everyone should own:

The Rocky series is always a classic. You can never go wrong with those.
Book everyone should read :

Vince Flynn is kind of like Dan Brown and he has a series of books starring a Jack Bauer type character and his books are great. If I had to recommend one it would be Executive Power.

T.V. show everyone should check out:

I really got into Prison Break. That’s my kind of show.

A Web site
everyone should have in their bookmarks

Probably I like to keep up to date on what’s going on around the world.

A place everyone needs to visit:

Probably Paris. I’ve been there before and there’s nothing like it. With its history, it’s pretty incredible. You need to go there with that special someone. It’s not a place to go with the boys that’s for sure!

A go-to snack:

M&M’s. Chocolate of course.
