My Essentials: Jaroslav Spacek

by Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens
Some things in life, like water, air and hockey are absolutely essential for everyone, but is there anything else we simply couldn’t live without?  In a quest to find an answer we caught up with Jaroslav Spacek and put him on the hot seat to get his take on life’s little necessities.  Here’s what the veteran defenseman recommends checking out to read, watch or listen to if you’ve got a few spare hours to kill.

Movie everyone has to see:

. I like that genre of movie. It feels like real life – the way things actually happen. I think people can learn a lot from watching those kinds of movies.

Album everyone should add to their collection:

I don’t know which album in particular, but definitely Bon Jovi as an artist. I also like a lot of Czech music, but no one here knows those songs. At least everyone knows who Bon Jovi is.

DVD box set everyone should own:

Entourage. Since it’s been on the air, I’ve been watching religiously every Sunday.

Book everyone should read :

I’m not really an avid book reader. I’m more into magazines. I really like Dupont Registry. It has all kinds of stuff about yachts, luxury cars, mansions, those kinds of things.

T.V. show everyone should check out:

I like Prison Break and Lost.

A Web site
everyone should have in their bookmarks

Oh, I’d say … seriously though, I’d maybe pick… I don’t know if that actually exists. So let’s say I know that one exists. You can book tee times for any course, anywhere.

A place everyone needs to visit:

Prague. It’s a city with a rich history and culture. It’s also much better than it used to be there. Since the fall of communism there, the city has changed a lot. I think everyone should visit Prague at least once.

A go-to snack:

It’s got to be Dairy Queen ice cream .
